Nominations for the 2008 QIA Star Awards are now open

The Quality Improvement Agency (QIA) holds the annual STAR Awards to recognise and reward individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the quality of learning that millions of people across England receive every day. Now in their fifth year the awards play an important role in celebrating the achievement of the sector and sharing best practice.

Eligibility
Any member of staff who works in post-16 education for an organisation, workplace or programme funded fully or partly by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and based in England can be nominated. Anyone can nominate including learners, colleagues and managers, providing that the person you are nominating is not part of your family. Why nominate?
- The STAR Awards are your chance to highlight the work of someone who has made a difference in the system
- All short-listed nominees will be invited to a regional celebration event in October and then the glittering national awards ceremony in central London in November where the winners will be announced. Nominators of short-listed nominees are also invited to attend.
- STAR Award winners receive a cash prize, a trophy and a certificate. Each winner will also be invited to apply for personal and/or professional development from the new STARlight fund
